LLANSANNAN’s unbeaten start to the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League Premier Division season came to an end as they fell to a 3-0 home reverse to Machno United.

The visitors made an impressive start to proceedings and went ahead on ten minutes courtesy of a Callum Parry effort, before Owain Jones doubled their advantage before the interval with 35 gone.

After the break saw Gari Evans’ men miss a host of chances to get themselves back into the contest, and they were made to pay on 65 minutes when Rhydian Williams converted a chance to round off the scoring.

Abergele also suffered their first defeat of the season thanks to a 2-1 loss at Bro Cernyw.

Trystan Roberts got the hosts off to a flyer after seven minutes, but Gele pegged them back after 35 when Greg Hilditch finished well.

The three points were sealed for the home side late on when Llion Morris finished well after a period of pressure on 77 minutes.

Title hopefuls Llanfairfechan Town got their season up and running after a 4-2 triumph at Cerrigydrudion.

Two efforts from Luke Patterson and James Corey gave the away side a comfortable lead at the break, and a quick-fire brace from Jack Kennery on 46 and 51 minutes in the second period all-but sealed the points. Tirion Griffiths hit a double for Cerrig late on.

Matty Rees was the star of the show for Rhuddlan Town, with the talented forward hitting a hat-trick in their resounding 4-1 victory over Old Colwyn. Top scorer Jordan Bellham continued his excellent start to the season with a solitary effort.
