LLANDUDNO Albion bounced back from their heavy weekend loss to secure a dramatic 4-3 triumph at newly promoted Prestatyn Sports.

The Lock Stock Welsh Alliance Division One promotion hopefuls were humbled at Nantlle Vale on Saturday but showed tremendous character against a Sports team that have boasted a formidable home record in recent years.

A goalless first period was turned on its head after the break, with Luke Smith finishing well on 57 minutes after good work from Ricky Jones and Luke Fountain.

This provoked a strong response from the hosts, who levelled matters through a Darren Cassidy penalty on 63 minutes, before Albion regained the advantage when Harry Roberts capitalised on a goalkeeping error with 69 gone.

The end-to-end nature of the game continued with another Sports equaliser from Tom McDougall on 75 minutes, only for Fountain to round off a fantastic individual display with a third for Darren Jones’ men shortly after the setback.

Back came the home side and they looked to have rescued a share of the spoils when James Harper levelled for a third time on 89 minutes, but there was still time for further drama which arrived through a stunning drive from Jones in stoppage time.

A Meilir Williams brace was enough to give Penrhyndeudraeth a 2-0 home triumph over Barmouth and Dyffryn United, with Llandudno Junction suffering a 4-1 home loss to high flying Bodedern Athletic.

Llanrwst United also continued their resurgence thanks to a 1-1 home draw with Greenfield.

Division Two title contenders Glan Conwy got back to winning ways with a 5-0 rout at Meliden thanks in no small part to a brace from Conor Davies, with goals from Richard Jones, Mark Jones and Dion Evans giving Llannerchymedd a 3-0 victory at Amlwch Town.

Darren Lewthwaite’s strike for Gaerwen was cancelled out by Steve Jones in their 1-1 home draw with Aberffraw.
