MENAI Bridge Tigers laid down another huge Gwynedd League title marker in the early stages of the season with a 5-2 success at Llangoed.

The unbeaten side wasted no time in stamping their authority on proceedings and went ahead after 15 minutes when Sion Hogan finished well after a prolonged period of possession, and the same player was on hand to double their advantage soon after with another fine effort with 21 gone.

There was further cause for celebration just before the break when Ryan Owen fired home a third for the visitors, and they all-but sealed the points after the interval thanks to a Darren Gowans penalty on 55 minutes.

The home side had a glimmer of hope when Wayne Thomas reduced the arrears after 58 minutes, but this joy proved to be short-lived as Dean Redmond netted a fourth for the Tigers with an hour gone.

Another consolation from Llion Roberts on 73 minutes followed, but it did not take the gloss off another outstanding display from the promotion hopefuls, who extended their perfect opening to the campaign.

Reformed Glantraeth picked up their most impressive win of the season to date with a 2-1 victory at Bro Goronwy.

Warren Gibbs’ men got off to a blistering start and were two-up within the opening 14 minutes thanks to a quick-fire brace from Andy Clark, and despite a Tam Morton goal on 35 minutes it was not enough to secure a share of the spoils for the hosts.
