A MOTORIST whose vehicle was seen on the wrong side of the road at Prestatyn was extremely unsteady on his feet when police stopped him, a court heard.
Mechanic-fitter Kelvin Owen, 46, of St Mary’s Walk, Flint, was ordered to do 140 hours of unpaid work and banned from driving for 30 months after he admitted failing to provide a breath test.
Prosecutor James Neary said Owen’s speech was slurred and he had screamed and shouted in custody at St Asaph.
Andrew Hutchinson, defending at Llandudno court, said Owen had drunk alcohol at a restaurant.
He worked for a haulage firm and was married.
District judge Gwyn Jones, who also ordered Owen to pay £170 costs, said: "There’s evidence suggesting a high level of impairment."
