A TEENAGER has been charged with damaging a town's war memorial.

The North Wales South Flintshire policing team has confirmed a 14-year-old youth was charged with damaging the silent soldier memorial, Mold, on July 30.

A spokesman said on Twitter: "Thanks to all the local residents who have supplied NWP with information leading to the charge. #SilentSoldierFixed #MoldCommunitySpirit."

Blacksmiths stepped in to help replace the silhouette commemorating those that died during both world wars, and the new soldier, made with steel, was unveiled to the town last Friday.
