Two doves have died after appearing to be dumped in Wrexham.
RSPCA Cymru received a call about seven loose birds on Tuesday night after they were found at Borras Hall Lane, Llan-y-Pwll.
Two of the seven doves had already died on the road due to the passing traffic.
RSPCA inspector Tim Jones said: "They were found on top of a car and on the floor without a cage or box.
"They were found on a back road, so it could be that they may have been abandoned or possibly escaped from somewhere, so we are appealing for information to try and find out where they came from.
“When I arrived they were together in a group and were very tame. I was able to catch each one individually and they didn’t fly away.”
The five doves have now been taken into RSPCA care.
Apart from the two tragic fatalities, the other five were uninjured. They were not ringed.
Inspector Jones added: "RSPCA’s inspectorate appeal line can be reached on 0300 123 8018, and calls are treated in confidence. If anyone has any information about these doves, we urge them to give us a call.”
