A VEHICLE was deliberately set ablaze in Wrexham, fire chiefs have said.
North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a Mazda sports car blaze in Dale Street in Smithfield shortly after 2pm yesterday.
One fire crew from Wrexham used a hose reel jet and a set of breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze which caused 50 per cent fire damage to the engine compartment.
A spokesman for the fire and rescue service told the Leader the blaze was caused deliberately and was believed to have been started near the number plate area on the vehicle.
