FLOODS have been deemed "hazardous" by concerned residents of a Flintshire village.
The sunshine enjoyed by many in recent weeks was halted by heavy showers that scattered across the region on Monday evening.
Leader photographer Rick Matthews, of Gwernaffield, spotted an overflowing water drain on Gwernaffield Road, visible as he drove into the village from Mold at around 5.30pm on Monday.
He said: "It was flowing like a river. The water was just flooding down out of the village. There was too much pressure for the water to be contained and it burst the grids.
"It was also quite hazardous for people driving into village as there was surface water on the road."
The Met Office has said today will be another cloudy day, with the sun returning tomorrow with highs of 20C across Flintshire.
