AN inquest has been opened following the train track death on Deeside of a man from Ellesmere Port.
Robert Hartshorne, 51, died at Shotton Railway Station on Monday, July 9.
John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central, told a hearing held at County Hall in Ruthin that at about 3pm Mr Hartshorne placed himself in direct collision with a train.
Notes of intent were later found at his home in Wilmslow Drive, Great Sutton and the initial cause of death has been recorded as a head injury.
The full inquest has been adjourned until later this year.
