A TOWN came to life with music as residents flocked to an annual festival this weekend.

B-fest Holywell wowed crowds this Saturday during the charity’s sixth show, held at Holywell Football Club.

This years B-Fest had a “different approach” as it targeted towards more of an adult audience, with a variety of locally sourced beers and food vendors to accompany the fantastic live music, with various activities throughout the day to entertain guests.

One of the founders of B-Fest, Philippa Kitchen, has always been actively involved in music from fronting bands to conducting choirs and she said the day was thoroughly enjoyed by those that came, with the weather described as being just perfect.

She said: "There was a little bit of panic with the rain we had on Thursday and Friday and everyone was frantically checking their weather apps for updates!

"The flow of the day was really nice and we just love putting this event on and working with bands, who are all hand picked by us.

"The Boston Shakers were the headline act this year and when they arrived on stage at around 9.30pm the audience that remained were treated to an amazing performance."

The ticketed festival, which delivered “vibrant acts showcasing amazing diverse talents” has been a bid to encourage and nurture local talent through Welsh and English mediums since 2013.

The team of organisers wished to bring some life to the town, as well as raise funds for the KIM charity, who provide professional, high quality mental health support and recovery in the community, including coping strategies, social networks and opportunities for training, volunteering, employment and community integration.
