HUNDREDS of residents turned up to enjoy Mold’s annual carnival.

The carnival has become a town tradition and is run by a small group of volunteers who aim to deliver a community event.

Jane Evans, volunteer of six years, said: “It has been amazing, fantastic and we had glorious weather. It’s all been brilliant and it ran smoothly.

“It’s getting bigger each year, we’re always looking to put things different but keep it community focused and hopefully keep it a free entry event.”

The main stage was located on Kendricks Field for the first time and the organiser said this was a success.

Residents enjoyed a variety of things ranging from live entertainment to special guests such as Sherrie Hewson who carried out meet and greets and a Q&A session on stage.

All money raised will go towards putting the carnival on again next year as Jane said it is about providing a community event.

She added: “I think it’s a great family day out, it’s an opportunity for people of all ages, we see babies to nan’s come out and enjoy a free day. We have first class entertainment for people to enjoy.”
