North Wales Crusaders lost Sunday's league game after the referee awarded their opponents a last-minute drop-kick - despite the ball clearly dropping under the cross-bar.

The crucial point gave Hunslet a 19-18 victory at Wrexham's Queensway Stadiuum.

Crusaders CEO Andy Mousdale described the drop-kick award - and the decision of the Rugby Football League not to overturn the decision - as 'shambolic'.

He said: "It's the last minute of the game and it's blatantly not gone over the crossbar, yet they've won the game because of the decision."
