THE PEOPLE of Wrexham braved the heat as they came in their numbers for the town's street festival.

The street festival was partnered with AVOW's own volunteer day and saw several stalls set up offering everything from cakes and refreshments to a raffle and a 'selfie station'.

Several local businesses were also involved in the festival, which engulfed Wrexham town centre in a sea of colour.

After the event Wrexham Street Festival posted on their Facebook page: "Massive thank you to all the volunteers and helpers who contributed to making today a really special day out for loads of Wrexham folk, you know who you are, too many to name.

"Hope you all enjoyed yourselves and no one ended up with heat stroke.

"Special mention has to go to Nigel Lewis who battled on in spite of his back trouble, and Ian and Norah Lucas who worked incredibly hard all day both on gazebo duty and making sure the entertainment went smoothly."
