Ian Parry spoke of his delight after a resolution to increase facilities for wheelchair users at The Racecourse was carried at the AGM of the Wrexham Supporters' Trust'.

A single solitary wheelchair viewing platform in the Mold Road Stand was opened in 2015 but many disabled Wrexham fans attend matches in all weather conditions without shelter at the front of the stand.

But fans have voted in favour of additional and improved disabled viewing facilities at the stadium and Wrexham Disabled Supporters Association committee member Parry says big strides can now be taken by Wrexham Football Club.

The Leader:

"It was a lot of work putting it all together and thanks to the other members of the DSA for helping us out, Steve Gilbert and Nathan Lee Davies who put the proposal in with me," said Parry.

"Great to have something like this and we can move the club forward.

"We already offer fantastic facilities but the chance to be able to offer people better ones and outdo clubs that are in higher leagues than us is going to be tremendous for this football club.

"Going back four years ago before I was in a wheelchair, I wouldn't even know where disabled people sat," said Parry.

The Leader:

"When you are in that situation, you realise there is a lot we could do here as a football club.

"We can build from this now and be one of the most successful clubs certainly in the bottom three divisions and maybe even aim for Premier League facilities.

"We have got one platform at the moment, we are looking for two new platforms and better disabled seating in the Hays Travel Stand as well."
