TRIBUTES have been paid to a "much-loved" business owner who has died following a short illness.

Jayne Lewis, 52, who owned Lewis’s Farm Shop in Eyton, Wrexham, along with her husband Mark, died on Sunday, June 17, following a short battle with cancer.

Mrs Lewis spent her childhood at Bank Farm, Bangor-On-Dee and met Mark, formerly of Manor Farm, Eyton, at the local Young Farmers' Club.

They were married on June 23, 1990 and had two children, Rowena and Matthew.

Prior to establishing Lewis's Farm Shop, Mrs Lewis worked as a dental nurse at Maelor Dental Care, Bangor-On-Dee.

Mrs Lewis and her husband began selling lamb from the family's farm in the early 2000s with a selection of homemade cakes at local farmer's markets.

Their success allowed them to open a purpose-built farm shop near their home at Brook Cottage in Eyton.

Paying tribute, the family said: "Jayne’s role in the farm shop was to manage the kitchen and her natural talent for baking attracted visitors from far and wide.

"She was dedicated, hard-working and strived for perfection in everything she did.

"The business expanded over the years and Jayne helped to manage a team of 14 committed employees whom she valued very much.

"Jayne was passionate about everything in life but her family gave her the greatest joy.

"Her family is thankful for the numerous tributes sent from relatives, friends and members of the local community.

"She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion and generosity."
