COMMUNITY leaders are objecting to a bid to change a village newsagents to a Chinese hot food outlet at Gwersyllt Post Office.

Safety of people crossing the busy road, parking issues and the fears of encouraging vermin in the area are among reasons why councillors are opposing the planning application which will be decided by Wrexham Council.

Cllr Raymond Hughes told Gwersyllt Community Council that if the Hope Street application was allowed it would mean five food outlets in the area. "Too much,” he said.

The post office is owned by Geoff Matthews who has been in business for many years.
