Injury has ruled David Lloyd out of the Glamorgan squad for their County Championship clash with Northants this week.

The Welsh county have left Wrexham-born batsman Lloyd out of their 12-man squad for the Division Two encounter as a precaution, after the 26-year-old injured his knee in their draw with Derbyshire.

The former Brymbo all-rounder had to call for a runner during Glamorgan’s second innings but still managed to blast a quickfire 43 not out off just 26 balls including two fours and three sixes in their 403 for seven declared. He was replaced in the field by former Marchwiel and Wrexham teenager Roman Walker who was 12th man.

However, Derbyshire held on for a draw in their reply, finishing up on 147 for eight, despite 4-43 from Michael Hogan.
