NEW art exhibitions are set to launch with an opening event at T? Pawb.

The exhibitions are Wrexham Is The Name, which is a celebration of Wrexham itself, and Nascent Inclinations, a collection of work from art graduates and students across the region.

Wrexham Is The Name will recapture the opening of T? Pawb in the town centre with six Wrexham-themed souvenirs and images.

Nascent Inclinations includes artwork from graduates of Wrexham Glyndwr University and Liverpool Hope University along with students' work from four other local art courses.

Jo Marsh, arts lead for Wrexham Council and creative director at T? Pawb said: “The process of developing the six souvenirs for our Wrexham Is The Name exhibition has unearthed some weird and wonderful stories.

“All six artists have done a brilliant job in translating our heritage into something that visitors to T? Pawb will want to own and treasure.

”Bringing together the outstanding talent from these six local institutions for our Nascent Inclinations is a truly unique but accurate interpretation of Ty Pawb’s mission.

"Not only does this demonstrate the extraordinary artistic output in our region, it also highlights Wrexham’s advantageous geographic location.

“This is an exhibition that the whole of the North of Wales and the North West of England can be proud of.”

Cllr Hugh Jones, Lead Member for Communities, Partnerships, Public Protection and Community Safety, said: “I would encourage anyone interested in Wrexham’s heritage to pay a visit to this exhibition at T? Pawb.

"This is an excellent example of our local communities involving themselves in the life of T? Pawb."

Both exhibitions will open on June 30 with a free opening event from 1pm for Wrexham Is The Name and 5pm for Nascent Inclinations.
