AN VILLAGE carnival, which raises money for a community playground, was very well attended at the weekend, a councillor has said.
The annual Sychdyn Carnival took place on Saturday and featured a variety of games and attractions, along with a parade.
This year’s theme was creepy crawlers and carnival-goers were invited to see some of the village’s creepiest insects.
Northop councillor Marion Bateman told the Leader the event had been organised by the village's carnival committee and she helped out for the day on the entrance gates.
"From what I saw it went very well and it was very well attended," she said.
"It was mostly dry for the day but we had a few outbursts of rain. I think everyone had a good time."
Rachel Hayward, one of the organisers, told the Leader previously that the event helps to fundraise to maintain Sychdyn's community playground, and keep the equipment up-to-date.
