HUNDREDS of people turned out to enjoy an annual town festival.

The 2018 Bailey Hill Festival saw the titular site in Mold town centre come alive on Sunday afternoon, and into the early evening, with an eclectic line up of entertainment booked to suit all tastes and ages.

Cittaslow Mold organises the event, which featured entertainment all afternoon on the Inner Bailey along with free activities to try out such as circus skills, children’s creative workshops and guided heritage tours of the historic monument and more.

One of the volunteers behind the festival, Mold town Cllr Andrea Mearns said the event proved popular with families and organisers were delighted with the turn-out, from the town and further afield.

She said: "It has been brilliant. We have been very lucky with the weather as it has been glorious here today in Mold.

"There are plenty of people here and it is pleasing to see so many families out and about. It has been really well-received, we couldn't have asked for any more.

"We have live entertainment and music on the main stage at Inner Bailey and on the Outer stage there are woodland skills and free activities for the children."

Cllr Mearns added: "The event is great because you get so many volunteers coming to help and support it.

"We are all volunteers and without volunteers, the event simply could not happen.

"It is great to see such community spirit in Mold."

Artists performing live on the Inner Bailey main stage included Baker’s Fabulous Boys, Mr Hugh, the Six Ton Dog Band, singer songwriters Lorna Wilson and Elina Haf as well as local bands Blues Face and Ricochet.

The Bailey Hill Festival is non-profit making and all money raised goes towards the next year's festival.
