A HOST of entertainers will take to the stage at an annual town festival.

Bailey Hill Festival 2018 will see the titular site in Mold town centre come alive on Sunday with an eclectic line up of entertainment to suit all tastes.

Cittaslow Mold organises the event, which runs from 1pm to 6pm and is on two sites across Bailey Hill (at the top of the High Street in Mold) as well as in the hall of Kings Christian Centre.

There will be entertainment all afternoon on the Inner Bailey along with free activities to try out, such as circus skills, children’s creative workshops and guided heritage tours of the historic monument, in addition to a variety of stalls.

Artists performing live on the Inner Bailey main stage include Baker’s Fabulous Boys, Mr Hugh, the Six Ton Dog Band, singer songwriters Lorna Wilson and Elina Haf as well as local bands Blues Face and Ricochet.

During the afternoon there will be clog dancing by students who are performing later in the week at the World Finals 2018 of the Dance World Cup in Barcelona.

There’s an outdoor adventure treat planned for festival visitors to enjoy on the Outer Bailey, with North Wales Wildlife Trust teaming up with Wild Elements to deliver forest school activities such as den building, marshmallow toasting and a barefoot challenge.

The performance pagoda on the Outer Bailey will feature magician Ray Gatling, the Wizard and attendees will be able to listen to some of the best of storytelling as well as trying bi-lingual toddler yoga.

The annual festival is the flagship attraction held on Bailey Hill as it attracts hundreds of people to Mold’s Scheduled Ancient Monument, which is the birthplace of the Town and was the scene of years of conflict from the 11th century.

Tickets at the gate on the day are £4 for adults and free for children under 16 years of age.

The closest car park is Griffiths Square off Clayton Road behind the top of the High Street and car parking on Sunday is free of charge.
