A HORSE riding centre that caters for people with additional needs is seeking help after its track was damaged by heavy rainfall.

Clwyd Special Riding Centre (CSRC) in Llanfynydd is looking to raise money and for volunteers to help fill deep potholes that have developed after flash flooding hit the area last weekend.

CSRC is a registered charity that provides horse riding opportunities for people with disabilities and additional needs, and they are looking to raise £1500 to cover the damages.

This coming Monday, volunteers are sought to help move sand, fill holes and rake the track, and a donated lunch will be provided to all who take part.

CSRC currently supports over 200 people per week, and the damage to the track is hard hitting for its beneficiaries.

A lot of the riding and carriage driving takes place on the track, especially in the summer months, meaning the repair work is vital and donations are needed to purchase the silica sand and rubber required to fill the holes.

Sorrel Taylor, CSRC Centre Manager, said: ''CSRC fundraises constantly to raise the £5,000 per week needed to operate. The damage to the track is devastating as it has affected most of the 2km length and is a very expensive repair.

''We would be so grateful for financial support and volunteers to allow us to reopen the track, and bring a rake!''
