A MAN from Wrexham has received a suspended prison sentence after he admitted handling stolen goods.
Robert Adam Williams, 33, was charged by police investigating a fuel card fraud which also involved three other defendants but he failed to turn up for sentence earlier this month.
His barrister, Mark Connor, told Mold Crown Court that Williams, of Cae Gwilym Lane in Cefn Mawr, had not turned up previously after his vehicle had been broken into abroad.
While in France, his passport had been taken and he had been unable to attend the court.
Judge Rhys Rowlands imposed a 16 week prison sentence, suspended for a year.
He imposed a three month curfew under which he must remain indoors between 9pm and 6am.
It was a 12-week sentence for handling and a further four weeks for failing to answer his bail.
The judge said he and others had been involved in offending which involved diesel to the value of more than £12,000 from a company.
Others received suspended sentenced on May 10.
