A MAN charged with wounding and assault in domestic circumstances has been cleared.

Callum Alex Williams, 20, of Adwy, Coedpoeth, had previously denied the offences and a trial was due to take place in August.

But at Mold Crown Court the prosecution offered no evidence against him and he was formally found not guilty.

The court was told the complainant had made retraction statements and had told how she had fallen on both occasions.

There was no longer a realistic prospect of a conviction, said barrister Richard Edwards, prosecuting.
