The National League have announced their Team of the Year, with Wrexham defensive duo Shaun Pearson and Manny Smith both in the line-up.

Elliott Durrell, deemed surplus to requirements by Chester 12 months ago, is selected after a superb campaign with champions Macclesfield Town, while former Wrexham stopper Shwan Jalal is also included.

Shwan Jalal (Macclesfield Town) – Former Wrexham goalkeeper has flourished at Moss Rose, keeping 15 clean sheets in the title-winning season.

Manny Smith (Wrexham) – Returned to The Racecourse last summer after a season with Gateshead and has formed an excellent defensive partnership with Pearson, helping the Reds keep a club-record number on clean sheets.

Steve McNulty (Tranmere Rovers) – The veteran defender led Tranmere to play-off glory at the weekend and has had another superb campaign.

Shaun Pearson (Wrexham) – The Reds’ captain has put in a series of superb displays despite his side missing out on the play-offs, missing just one match all season.

Danny Whitaker (Macclesfield Town) – The 37-year-old midfielder capped a fine career in the lower leagues by securing the title with Macc, scoring nine times in the process.

Craig Eastmond (Sutton Utd) – Into his third season at Gander Green Lane, the former Arsenal trainee has proved a consistent performer in their run to the play-offs.

Elliott Durrell (Macclesfield Town) – Deemed not good enough when released by Chester last summer, the winger has proven himself to be a high quality performer in non-league and bagged eight goals as Macc won promotion.

Louis Dennis (Bromley) – Scored 13 National League goals and has helped Bromley reach the FA Trophy final.

Andy Cook (Tranmere Rovers) – Another superb goalscoring return from the former Barrow man who netted 26 times including a powerful header in the play-off final.

Danny Rowe (AFC Fylde) – His 24 goals for the newly-promoted side secured them a top-seven finish and earned Rowe the league’s Player of the Year accolade.

Bruno Andrade (Boreham Wood) – Scored 20 goals for Wood in their run to the play-off final and continues to impress with his pace and technique.
