AN inquest has been opened into the death of a motorcyclist killed in a collision last week.

Taxi driver Nathan Lee Jones, 48, died when his machine collided with a Fiat 500 at the junction of the A525 with the A483 near Wrexham on May 4.

Mr Jones, of Talwrn Road, Rhostyllen, was certified as dead at the scene and was identified by his brother Kevin.

At a brief hearing in Ruthin John Gittins, coroner for North Wales East and Central, said a post-mortem examination had taken place but a decision on the cause of death had been deferred pending toxicology tests.

The hearing was adjourned to a provisional date in October but Mr Gittins said that because of the nature of the incident and the forensic investigation it could be delayed.

In a statement released after his death Mr Jones’ family said: "He was full of life and a real character, loving, funny and stubborn too.”

One of the floral tributes left at the scene read: “I will never forget the way you helped me – you’re a true gent.”
