Hundreds of music fans squeezed through the doors of Mold's Vod Music as part of Saturday's Record Store Day.

Vod Music is supposedly Britain’s smallest record store, but this did not put off the crowds with store owner Colin Trueman and his staff dealing with huge queues throughout the day.

Record Store Day (RSD) celebrates the iconic vinyl music format, and sees over 200 independent record stores across the UK encourage punters to visit their local shop where hundreds of limited edition titles are on sale throughout the day.

"It was a brilliant day," said Colin. "People started queueing from 5.45pm the night before.

"A lot of people came for the unique titles that are made for Record Store Day and we had over 300 different titles on sale. Some of the records have only been pressed 500 times so they're really collectible.

"We had people from Leeds, Merseyside, and of course from all over Wales coming to visit the store."

Big sellers on the day included Chester indie heroes Mansun along with releases from Led Zeppelin, David Bowie and Goat.

Alongside events in the record shop, Colin also organised a record fair to run alongside RSD in the Daniel Owen Community Centre which featured live sets from Kavus Torabi and Sendelica.

"It was our busiest RSD yet and a brilliant social event," added Colin.
