A MAN has been banned from all pubs and clubs in Flintshire.

The exclusion order from on-licenced premises will remain for six months.

But Philip Moran, 25, was told by District Judge Gwyn Jones that the order would mean that he would be able to go to shops and supermarkets which were licensed.

The exclusion order was made at Flintshire Magistrates’ Court at Mold when Morgan, of Deiniol’s Road in Mancot, admitted an assault charge at Wetherspoons in Shotton, on April 19.

The court was told that the victim was a friend Christopher Gibson, he had not wanted a prosecution and was in court supporting the defendant.

But the whole thing had been caught on CCTV and the defendant had admitted what he had done in a police interview.

Moran was fined £120 with £85 costs and he was ordered to pay £200 compensation.

James Neary, prosecuting, said that the defendant was abusive with his friend, asked him to buy him a pint and then asked for £20.

The CCTV showed him attempting to strike him before being taken outside by staff.

He said he would kill him, and when told he was barred from the premises he said he might as well go back inside and “do” him.

Interviewed, he accepted responsibility.

Phillip Lloyd Jones, defending, said that the friend had come to court to support the defendant.

The defendant had been frank with the police and admitted that he had been pushing and grabbing him.

He was heavily intoxicated at the time.

The case was, he said, at the lower end of the scale.
