A LLANGOLLEN man bombarded his ex-partner with social media and text messages after their break-up, a court heard.
Justin Langford was so aggrieved by his split that he sent Ruth Langford 136 WhatsApp messages in one day
Prosecutor Justin Espie said: "From March to June last year he sent a considerable number of WhatsApp messages which caused the victim distress because of their volume and content."
Langford also sent 400 emails to his former partner, although some related to childcare arrangements, as well as texts to both her and a work colleague, Wrexham Magistrates' Court was told.
He said he stepped up his harassment last December when he attached notes to cards and gifts he sent to his daughter.
Langford, 40, of Bodwen Villas, Hill Street admitted harassment between March 1 last year and February 21 this year.
Justine McVitie, defending said: "It was not just a case of him splitting up, he was extremely hurt and he found it very difficult to get over it. He is a man who lived a law-abiding life, but he recognises he needs to get a handle on this."
Probation officer Rachel Woodcock said Langford took full responsibility for his actions.
"He agrees it was down to his inability to deal with the emotional upset," she said.
Magistrates handed Langford a 12-month community sentence with a 15-day rehabilitation requirement.
They placed him under a two-year restraining order and fined him £250. He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £85.
