Police are urging two people to come forward following allegations of a serious assault in Ellesmere Port dating back to last year.
In the early hours of New Year’s Day 2017, an injured 35-year-old woman from Ellesmere Port was sitting near to a curb opposite the Phoenix pub on Cromwell Road.
A man and a woman came to her aid and helped her walk to an address on Princess Road.
Cheshire Police are trying to establish the identity of the good Samaritans and want to speak to them as part of their ongoing investigation.
Detective Constable Jessica Barlow said: “The man and the woman we want to speak to are not in trouble in any way. We merely believe they may be able to help with our enquiries.
“If you are the man or the woman who came to the injured and distressed woman’s aid or think you may know who they are please contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 17946.”
A 33-year-old man from Ellesmere Port has been arrested in connection to the incident. He has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
