ELDERLY residents have been enjoying makeovers.

Tenants at an extra care housing scheme for older people in Acrefair have been living life to the full enjoying exercise classes and pampering sessions to keep them happy and well.

Yvonne Jones, manager of Plas Telford, a scheme for the over 55s run by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association in partnership with Wrexham Council, said: “The great thing about extra care is that tenants live completely independently in their own self-contained apartments so that can completely maintain their own privacy while having some superb activities that they can join, should they choose.

“The activities are often arranged following suggestions from the tenants themselves and as well as having lots of fun, they provide a great way to build friendships with other tenants. We were absolutely delighted to welcome Yvette Mellalieu from Arbonne beauty products to the scheme recently, when she kindly provided luxury make-overs using their products and also treated tenants to hand massages.”

Louise Blackwell, community development officer for Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, added: “We’d like to thank all at Plas Telford, and our wonderful volunteers from the wider community who provide such an excellent range of opportunities for tenants to live life to the full and enjoy such a great range of activities.”
