CCTV footage has captured a knife-wielding woman's attempt to rob a takeaway in Wrexham.

A woman armed with knife and wearing a pair of tights over her head attempted to rob the Hungry Inn in Prince Charles Road, Caia Park, just after 10pm on Monday night.

She also entered the Co-op store next door, but was left empty-handed  before fleeing the scene in a silver grey taxi.

No one was hurt during the incident.

CCTV footage shows the robber making jabbing gestures in the direction of the takeaway staff with the knife.

The woman is described as being in her 20’s with blond hair, large build and was wearing a grey jumper and black jogging bottoms.

North Wales Police are appealing for information or witnesses to come forward.
