A WREXHAM AFC player has denied urinating in public and drink driving.
Reds full back James Hurst, 25, appeared before Wrexham Magistrates’ Court charged with drunk and disorderly behaviour and driving while over the limit.
Representing himself, Hurst, dressed in his full Wrexham AFC tracksuit, of Somerville Road, Sutton Coldfield, pleaded not guilty to both offences.
Prosecutor Rob Blakemore said it was alleged Hurst had consumed six pints of Guinness in the Crafty Dragon in High Street, Wrexham, on December 17.
He was then seen allegedly urinating against the wall of the Nationwide bank in High Street.
It is also alleged that he drove while over the limit.
The matter was adjourned for a trial to be held at Llandudno Magistrates' Court on April 5.
Hurst has called fellow Reds player Ferdinant Takyi, who was with him at the time of the alleged offences, as a witness.
A Wrexham AFC spokesman said the club would not comment while the matter was still going through the courts.
