Police are not ruling out that a flat fire in Flintshire was caused deliberately.
Fire crews responded to reports of a building blaze at Foresters Hall on High Street, Bagillt, at just after 11.30am on Thursday.
A crew from Holywell and two crews from Deeside attended the blaze.
Two hose reel jets, four sets of breathing apparatus and two themal image cameras were used to tackle the flames.
A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said no injuries had been reported.
He said: “Officers think the fire was caused by discarded smoking materials and an officer will not be ruling out deliberate ignition due to information gained by police while they were there that it could potentially be arson.”
A cordon was set up around the building up to Galdys Lane and crews including fire investigation teams remained on site throughout the day.
There was 100 per cent smoke damage to the flat and and fire damage was confined to the sofa where investigators believe the flames originated.
