CAERSWS were shot down at the Airfield as two goals from veteran defender Jamie Smith ensured the Wingmakers prevailed.

The former Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers player starred, while being joined on the scoresheet by ex-Newtown defender Mark Allen.

It took Airbus just 15 minutes to break the deadlock, with Smith latching on to a pass from Ryan Edwards to comfortably beat David Jones in the visitors’ goal.
Smith doubled his tally moments before the interval by finishing off some excellent approach play, between Gio Feliciello and Rhys Roberts, to the delight of the home faithful.

The match was all over as a contest on the hour, when Airbus skipper Allen volleyed home a rare goal to complete Caersws’ misery.

The Bluebirds rarely threatened a reply, with Lee Jenkins forcing a rare save from home custodian Kris Rogers midway through the second-half.

Caersws manager Mickey Evans said: “I’m not sure what happened. The lads seemed slow from the start and never really got going at all.

“There can be no complaints though as Airbus were deserved winners.”
