CAERSWS toiled against league leaders Llanelli, but failed to halt their slide towards their 19th defeat of the season.
As for Llanelli the victory extended their unbeaten run to 12 games, showing the form that earned player-manager Andy Legg the February manager of the month award.
The Bluebirds trailed inside 12 minutes when Matthew Prosser handled inside the area, with the prolific Rhys Griffiths netting the resulting penalty.
Home goalkeeper David Jones anticipated a busy afternoon and so it proved with a string of outstanding saves.
Jones denied Griffiths before pulling off a superb save to push away Andrew Mumford’s long range blast.
Former Caersws favourite Chris Venables also spurned an opening upon his return to his former stamping ground, while Jones smothered a trademark free-kick from specialist Mumford.
Jones was finally beaten once more on the hour, with player-manager Andy Legg’s free-kick met on the far post by Wyn Thomas.
However Jones was back to his best soon after, with a brave save at the feet of ex-Wales international winger Jason Bowen.
Substitute Craig Frater also went close in the dying seconds as Llanelli sought a third goal late on.
Caersws manager Mickey Evans said: “This was always going to be a difficult game against a top side but I felt we did ourselves justice.”
