DEAN KEATES  believes new signing Jack Mackreth will “put bums on seats” and entertain Wrexham fans.

Winger Mackreth is the seventh new signing of the summer and arrives from Bury on a one year deal.

Mackreth has also played for Barrow, Macclesfield Town, Grimsby Town and Tranmere Rovers, and Keates has always been impressed with what he has seen.

“I have played against Jack over the years and held him in high regard,” said Keates.

“He is full of pace, direct, goes at people and can make things happen.

“He brings something that The Racecourse has not had for the last few years and will put bums on seats.”

Mackreth, who joined Bury from Macclesfield in January for an undisclosed fee before returning to the Silkmen on loan, can’t wait to get started at Wrexham.

“Jack has played with a few of the lads we have brought in, Shaun Pearson, Sam Wedgbury and Chris Holroyd, so he knows a few of the lads we have signed so far,” added Keates.

“He is impressed with what we are looking to build here and wants to be part of what we are trying to achieve.”
