A GROUP of mums struck a pose for a glamorous charity calendar after being inspired by the hit film Calendar Girls.

Members of ‘Flintshire Mummys’ modelled for a boudoir-style photoshoot and hope to raise thousands of pounds for North Wales Chrysalis Trust through sales of the revealing yet tasteful calendar.

The 12 brave mums stripped off for the photoshoot at Soughton Hall in Northop after the group decided to do their bit for local charities.

Holly Edwards, 23, from Ruthin, was one of the mums who helped to organise the photoshoot.

“It was a fantastic day. Very long and very tiring but everybody had a brilliant time,” she said.

“The mums posed individually and then we took a group photograph of all 12 which will be on the front cover of the calendar.

“It was a bit chaotic because some of us had our kids with us but there were lots of laughs and giggles. We had music on and everybody was dancing around. It was lots of fun.”

Professional photographer Holly said the experience had been one to remember for the model mums.

“The mums were very, very nervous to start but by the end they were all really enjoying themselves,” she said.

“Some had quite a hard time after giving birth but they had a fabulous day and it really boosted their confidence. Everybody was brilliant.”

More than 200 mums have joined the group since it was formed in January and they meet every week at each others homes to make new friends and offer support.

Holly now has the task of choosing which photos will feature in the finished calendar.

“I took about 1,000 photos which I now need to edit and pass over to our designer.

“Our aim is to have the calendar printed and ready to buy by the beginning of November,” she said.

The calendars will be available from members of Flintshire Mummys and outlets across the county. The group is also planning on holding a launch event once the calendar has been printed.

She added: “Hopefully lots of people will buy it because every penny raised will be going to a fantastic cause.”
