A TRAGIC cycling accident has left a baby girl without her father.

Tributes have been paid to loving father James Nicholas Hall, 28, whose body was found in a stream below a high bridge near Rhos Berse Road in Coedpoeth.

Police say he is believed to have been in a cycling accident although no other vehicles are thought to have been involved.

Mr Hall, who worked at the 02 shop in Wrexham, had recently moved to Coedpoeth from Rhostyllen with his young family.

He leaves partner Gillian Parry, 20, and their one-year-old daughter Maizie.

On a Facebook tribute site, Gillian said: “I loved you so so much.

“Still in shock, you were everything to me and you were the best dad to Maizie and I want to thank you for her.

“I’m keeping as strong as I can for Maizie. I just miss you so much already and it still hasn’t sunk in but I promise I will remind Maizie how brilliant you were and how much you loved her everyday.

“You were my soulmate.”

Police and a fire crew were called to the scene, close to the Nant Mill Visitor Centre, at 3.55pm on Wednesday. Mr Hall was pronounced dead at the scene.

It’s such a waste,” said neighbour and family friend Christine Ord. “A hard working couple just starting out in life, I can’t believe it at all.”

Ms Ord’s daughters Tammy and Mizzelli Locke, had gone to Bryn Offa school with Miss Parry.

She said Mr Hall and Miss Parry had lived together in Coedpoeth before moving to Rhostyllen.

“They’d only just moved back here and had big plans for the house and the little one growing up.

“He said he couldn’t wait to get in the garden with the little one because the house they’d had previously only had a yard.”

She said her daughter Tammy had been with Mr Hall less than an hour before his body was found.

“Tammy walked up to school with James on his bike at about 3pm.

“They were laughing and joking. She thinks she was one of the last people to see him.

“He was such a lovely lad, really hard working, he was so family oriented.

“It’s just affected everybody, they’ll be really missed around here.

“He only got rid of his car the other week as it was cheaper to get the bus back and forth.”

Tributes from friends and family were posted on Facebook.

Jo-Anne Crumpler said “Still can’t believe it, been sat here thinking of all my memories of you and there are far too many that I can list.

“I've known you all my life, we went to nursery, primary school and high school together, you were always there if I needed anyone to talk to and cheered me up without even trying.”

Police want to speak to anyone who may have seen Mr Hall cycling along Rhos Berse Road in the direction of Nant Mill on a man’s silver coloured mountain bike.

Contact PC 450 Jackson or T/Inspector 1633 Davies at the Roads Policing Unit on 101 (if in Wales) or 0845 6071001 (Welsh language line) or 0845 6071002 (English language line).

Coedpoeth councillors Gareth Griffiths and Mark Davies both expressed their shock and sympathy.
