FRIENDS have paid a warm tribute to a biker killed in a horror crash.

Malcolm Fowlis, known as Mally, 41, died after his motorcycle collided with a car near Corwen in Denbighshire on Thursday.

North Wales Police said they believed Mr Fowlis was from the Flint area but the North East Wales coroner has confirmed his address as Roxborough Walk, Toxteth, Liverpool.

However, it is believed he did live in Flint for some time.

Police were called shortly after 1.30pm following reports of a serious road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and a car on the junction of the A5 and the A494 at Gwyddelwern near Corwen.

A spokesman for Wales Ambulance Service confirmed Mr Fowlis was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service did not attend the incident.

The North East Wales coroner has been informed. An inquest will be opened once a post-mortem has been carried out.

Paying tribute to him on Facebook, friend Paula Hansard said: “Deepest sympathy to all the Fowlis family.

“RIP Mally, you will be sadly missed.”

And Tara Thomas said: “Heart-felt sympathy to the Fowlis family on your sad loss.”

Another, un-named friend, refers to having been with Mr Fowlis at an 80s reunion in Liverpool the weekend before.

It said: “Myself and Dave would like to send our deepest condolences to the Fowlis family on the sad news we have heard on the loss of Mally Fowlis who was with us all at the reunion last Sunday with his family and many old friends.”
