TRIBUTES have been paid to a popular Deeside man who died on his 27th birthday.

Lee Turley, from Celtic Street in Connah’s Quay, died at the Countess of Chester Hospital on Wednesday evening following a long period of illness and subsequent heart attack.

His mother, Joyce Turley, said Lee was a bubbly and generous person who will be sorely missed.

She said: “He was a non-stop talker and very bubbly. He did have a lot of friends.

“We took him to the hospital on Tuesday, his birthday was on Wednesday. He was too poorly to even open his birthday cards.”

Joyce said among those who will miss Lee, a former pupil at Golftyn Primary School and Connah’s Quay High School, will be his close friends Graham Godbert and Ian Derby.

Lee, who loved dance music, also leaves his brother Mark, 25 and father Geoff Wearing, who lives in Buckley.

Joyce added Lee, who previously worked at the E.ON power station in Connah’s Quay, had been upset following the death last month of his grandmother Marjorie Turley who died at the age of 93.

“He was very close to her,” said Joyce. “He was lovely the day of her funeral, he did a reading.”

Connah’s Quay councillor Brian Dunn, who runs Wepre Post Office on Celtic Street, said: “It’s very sad. I know the family very well. It’s a very sad loss at a very young age. Lee was always very pleasant with us.”

Friends of Lee have been leaving messages in a group set up on social networking website Facebook.
