THE KNIGHTS had plenty to smile about as their second family member in a week was a high-flyer.

Fresh from older brother Jack scoring two A*s and two As at A-level, fellow Ysgol Rhiwabon pupil Emily Knight obtained 13 GCSEs at grades A* to C.

The family were preparing to celebrate together last night after seeing the pair’s hard work pay off.

Emily said: “I’m pleased to do well like Jack did last week.

“It’s been a lot of hard work but I’m happy with these results.”

Emily is now preparing to attend Yale College, while Jack is heading for Leicester University to study biological sciences.

Proud parents Karen and Andy, of Penycae, said: “We are delighted for both of them.

“They have done it themselves, what they have achieved is all down to them.

“Both of them have worked extremely hard.”

Another successful Ysgol Rhiwabon student was Molly Kempster, who has also chosen to head for Yale College.

She achieved 12 GCSEs, including four A*s and four As.

Molly said: “It’s been a lot of hard work and has been quite stressful waiting for these results, but I’m very pleased with them.”
