FIREFIGHTERS remain at the scene of a huge fire which ripped through a farm building.

Four fire engines were called to the farm on Mold Road, Alltami, shortly after 8am today.

Nearby residents have been evacuated and a  200 metre exclusion zone has been set up around the property amid fears gas canisters inside the building could explode.

A spokesman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was now under control and firefighters were applying copious amounts of water to one of the gas cylinders, which was affected by fire.

The A494 Mold Road is open in both directions after being closed for a number of hours.
