PROGRESS is being made in the quest to sell Stephanie Booth’s hotels.

Selling agents Colliers International yesterday confirmed interest remains high in the four hotels in the Llangollen Hotels Group, which forms part of the Global Investment Group which entered administration last month, at the time of the shock closure of The Wynnstay Arms Hotel, Wrexham.

Colliers director Neil Thomson told the Leader all the hotels that are up for sale are attracting interest and steps are being taken towards takeover deals being completed, but offers are still invited.

The four hotels up for sale are The Chainbridge, The Wild Pheasant and Bryn Howel in Llangollen and Bodidris Hall, Llandegla.

“There’s been a steady level of interest in each of the hotels,” said Mr Thomson

“We are still talking to interested parties and continue to invite offers for each of the hotels and are making progress on them. We have received a number of offers on a couple of hotels and are continuing to attract interest on all of them.

“Things are looking very positive and we have been pleasantly surprised by the level of interest in the current market conditions.”

Details released by Colliers International have shown each of the four hotels made a trading profit last year.

Mr Thomson said it was looking increasing likely the hotels would be sold individually.

“There’s a strong possibility that each of the hotels is sold to individual parties,” he added.

“But there has been some interest in the group as a whole.”

Mr Thomson added each hotel would be continuing to trade after any takeover was completed.

The details of which hotels are closest to being sold have not been released and no valuations have been circulated for each hotel.

Administrators KPMG last week confirmed the process for acquiring the hotels is still ongoing, quashing rumours buyers had been found for some or all of the properties.

The four hotels, which have more than 100 employees in total, are currently being run by Convivial Management.

Two other hotels, The Chester Bridge Hotel, Chester, and The Anchor Hotel, Ruthin, are currently operating in the hands of landlords.
