LITTER picking pupils from St Mary’s Roman Catholic Primary School in Flint took part in a competition to design signs urging people to keep the town tidy.

The winners of the ‘Design a Sign’ contest were chosen last week by councillor Dennis Hutchinson, Flintshire Council’s executive member for leisure and public protection.

The winning entries will now be made into real signs for the town.

“The children put a great deal of effort into designing these signs, and I enjoyed judging them” said Cllr Hutchinson.

“Congratulations to the winners, Corey and Becky, whose artwork will soon be on display on signs in the town.

“We believe that children ‘live what they learn’ and working with schools helps us to underline our message that we have a ‘zero tolerance’ approach to litter and dog fouling.”
