AIRBUS UK manager Craig Harrison’s squad for the new Welsh Premier League season is taking shape.

Not only have three of last season’s squad put pen to paper but Harrision has also made three new signings.

Wing-back Ryan Edwards has committed himself to the Airfield despite offers from other clubs while midfielders Danny Desormeaux and Matty Woodward have also re-signed to keep the experienced backbone of last season’s side.

Striker Ross Rule has been recruited from Tranmere Rovers’ youth side, experienced WPL player Josh Griffiths arrives from Cefn Druids and Mark Cadwallader has returned to the club having been at Rhyl last season.

Cadwallader played for Harrison in 2008 before leaving to join Northwich Victoria a year later.

The highlights of Cymru Alliance champions Gap Connah’s Quay’s pre-season build up are the visit North Wales’ top two clubs to the Deeside Stadium.

Conference North bound Colwyn Bay are the visitors next Tuesday at 7pm while Nomads’ boss Mark McGregor welcomes former club Wrexham on Monday, August 8 (7pm).

The club will start their pre-season campaign at Blacon this Saturday (2pm), and other games are: July 20 Chester Nomads (A); July 23 Prescot (A); July 27 Mold (A); July 30 Runcon (H); August 6 Cammell Laird (H).

Caerwys are looking to appoint a new manager following the sudden resignation of Gareth Rush.

The club will play in the Clwyd League East Division next season, with the first fixture on August 13.
