A MAN was abusive towards officers and spat on a police vehicle after being arrested, a court heard.
Daniel Slater, of Greenwood Avenue, Gwersyllt, pleaded guilty at Wrexham Magistrates Court to charges of using threatening words or behaviour to cause harassment, alarm or distress and causing criminal damage.
Slater, 19, was given a six-month community order including supervision.
Huw Evans, prosecuting, said police were called to reports of a disturbance on Cheshire View, Brymbo, on the evening of June 15.
The defendant, who had blood on his face and arms, was said to have attempted to make off from police before eventually coming out of his hiding place.
Mr Evans said Slater acted aggressively towards officers and was shouting obscenities.
He was then seen spitting down the perspex windows of a police vehicle.
Andy Holliday, defending, said Slater had been in the Cheshire View area with friends when police were called to a disturbance which he maintains was not his fault.
Mr Holliday said Slater claimed another man had assaulted him and was angry at the situation, asking officers why he was being arrested and not the other man.
Slater, who was ordered to pay £85 costs, was said by Mr Holliday to regret his actions and asked for his early guilty plea to be taken into consideration.
