A GROUP of friends have bared all to raise money in memory of two Wrexham women whose lives were cut short by illness.

Since the death of mother-of-three Jill Clutton, of Abenbury, from cystic fibrosis at the age of 33 in February 2009 and her 39-year-old friend, Sharon Thomas, in May 2010 from cancer, family and friends have raised thousands of pounds for charity in their name.

Their latest venture is their most daring yet and saw a group of plucky guys from the big-hearted group stripping off to pose for a nude calendar, which is about to go on sale.

Copies of the cheeky 2012 year planner will be available from a charity day being staged at the Kingsmill pub in Wrexham on Saturday, July 9.

Natasha Breese, Jill’s sister-in-law, who helped organise the photoshoot for the calendar, said: “About a dozen lads, including my husband, Steven, agreed to model for it and went to various sites to do the shots, including the gardens at the Kingsmill. I think the best ones were done in the car wash in Hightown.

“I know some of the lads were a bit shy about doing it at first but after a while they were loving it.”

The calendar shots were taken free of charge, by photographer Tracey Probert.

The project has been sponsored by local firms Mjb Joinery, John R Boyle Glaziers and Synthite.

The charity day at the Kingsmill will run from noon-5pm.

During the afternoon there will be a bungee jump, bouncy castle, raffle and a name the teddy competition.

The evening will feature a karaoke session, a disco and a charity auction.

Natasha added: “We’re hoping to raise as much money as possible for cystic fibrosis and McMillan Cancer Support in memory of Jill and Sharon who died so tragically young.

“Two years ago we had a similar charity fun day when we raised £3,000 for cystic fibrosis in memory of Jill and Sharon helped organise it.”
