A HAUL of stolen goods has been uncovered following a spate of burglaries.

Police seized the items, which included a laptop, jewellery and a number of sat-navs, cameras and phones, during a raid at a property in Acton last Friday.

Sgt Nick Evans, who hopes to reunite the rightful owners with their missing property, said: “Goods estimated to be worth more than £1,000 in total were seized and one man was arrested.

“We are now appealing to anyone who recognises these goods as their own to come forward and claim them.

“They are predominantly electrical items such as laptops and sat-navs, but jewellery was also found and other miscellaneous pieces.”

The police raid followed a spate of burglaries in the Rhosddu and Caia Park areas of Wrexham.

And Sgt Evans believes information provided by members of the public was vital in making the find.

He said of the recovered goods: “We believe them to have been stolen during a series of burglaries over the last couple of weeks and we are now urging residents to keep windows and doors locked whenever leaving the house and overnight.

“The hot weather often brings an increase in this type of theft so we would encourage the public to be on the lookout for any suspicious behaviour and to contact police with any information they might have about the sale of stolen goods.

“Such sales are often carried out via word of mouth so many people will know about them.”

Wrexham county inspector Paul Jones added: “I would urge everyone to follow basic advice and make sure they don’t leave their doors and windows open when they are not in the house or room.”

“Opportunists can take advantage of the situation.”
