ONE of Flintshire’s biggest employers has moved into the former home of Moneysupermarket.com.

Airbus and its parent company EADS have celebrated the relocation of 80 staff to the 9000 sq ft Francis Smith House on Manor Lane, Hawarden.

The staff will cover human resources services for EADS, accounts payable for EADS and recruitment for both EADS and Airbus.

Robin Southwell, chief executive officer of EADS UK, and Mark Stewart, Airbus head of HR and country manager, were joined by Alyn and Deeside MP Mark Tami to officially open the facility.

Mr Southwell said: “We are pleased to be able to co-locate our staff in this modern facility. This will lead to better productivity and enhanced efficiency, making EADS and Airbus – with their world-beating, iconic products – even more competitive.”

Mr Tami said: “The continued investment into the local area from both EADS and Airbus remains crucial.”

The employees will be moving from offices on the main Airbus site, some of which date back to 1939, to the purpose built office space on Manor Lane, formerly occupied by Moneysupermarket.com.
